How penny product works

Penny auction-

To place a bid, customers are prompted to purchase a penny through a popup, which helps prevent fraudulent bids. The widget displays the number of remaining penny as “penny remaining,” allowing customers to easily access place bidding and ensuring a secure bidding environment.

To enable the penny option for an auction, the merchant can easily activate it using the app by following these steps:

  1. Access the App dashboard and navigate to the Auctions section.
  2. Create a new auction or edit an existing auction.
  3. Scroll down in the auction settings, you will find the “Penny Option” section.
  4. Enable the “Penny Option” toggle.
  5. Save the changes to apply the penny option to the auction.

After activating the penny option, the merchant can proceed to add products by following these steps in the Store Admin:


  1. Access the Store Admin.
  2. Click on the Products and add a new product.


  1. Enter the Product Title: “Penny product”.
  2. Make sure the product must be in the draft.
  3. In the Tags box, type “PENNY_PRODUCT” to ensure the product is tagged correctly.

4. scroll down below you can find add options like size or color, click on it.

5. Option name: provide options from the option name for the product

(e.g., color, size).

6. Option values: from the option value set the penny of the values

7. Price: Set the corresponding price for each variant.

8. Available: Enter the available quantity for each variant.

9. Click on the “Save” button to save the product information.


  1. Go to the Auction dashboard.
  2. Select “Manage Penny”.
  3. Click on “Penny Products”.
  4. Choose “Create Penny Products”.
  1. Enter the Penny Name.
  2. Specify the Number of Bids a customer can make with this penny.
  3. Select the Products you want to assign to the penny (choose from the products created in the store previously).
  4. Click on the “Save” button to save the changes.

Click “Select Products” to choose from a popup titled “Product Selection”.

  1. Access the Store Front as a customer.
  2. To place a bid, first, purchase a penny. (Note: Customers need to buy a penny before they can place a bid.)
